Embellish Magazine's Bags Color Challenge

It’s a Cinderella story of a gift bag...
Once upon a time there was a gift bag:

The gift bag was nice and simple but she always wondered “What is it like to be pretty?”. And one day she was picked up at a Target store and brought to a place where she was stamped, ribboned, and layered with paper. Finally, when everything was over, she looked in the mirror and saw her new herself:

My inspiration for this creation came from Embellish Magazine’s Bags Color Challenge. Here’s their inspirational poster:

Grand Thank You to a Piano Teacher

I recently came across an interesting challenge from the Russian blog ScrapTime. The name of the challenge was “Say Thank You to a [profession]”, and I instantly got an idea to make a thank you card for… a piano teacher. For no particular reason -- my kids aren’t taking any piano classes (too young), and neither am I (I don’t even have a clue how to play piano!... Always admired people who do, though).
The design is pretty much self-explanatory: vintage photograph, music notes, paper flowers, antique brads if you want, and crochet ribbon.  The photograph was found somewhere online, and so were the music notes (I just added a little bit of a sepia tone to them and printed out on the Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin’ Up!). After tearing the edge, I sponged it with some Distress Vintage Photo Ink.
Difficulty: Easy
Card dimensions: 5 x 7"
Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!): Chocolate Chip smooth (base), Very Vanilla;
Stamps (Stampin Up!): Sincere Salutations;
Ink: Chocolate Chip (Stampin Up!), Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Tim Holz);
Ribbon (Stampin Up!): Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla 1-1/4” Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Victoria 5/8” Crochet Trim Ribbon;
Flower: Recollections Boutique Fleur Mulberry Paper Flowers
Tools: Scallop Trim Border Punch (Stampin' Up!), Scallop Trim Corner Punch (Stampin' Up!), Scallop Oval Extra-Large Punch (Stampin' Up!), Eyelet Border Punch (Stampin' Up!), scissors, paper cutter, glue, glue dots (Stampin' Up!), dimensionals (Stampin' Up!).

Feliz Cumpleaños Card

I made this card for my wonderful brother-in-law. The sentiment in Spanish says “Happy Birthday (call when it’s time for cake)” :).

Difficulty: Easy
Card dimensions: 4 x 6"
Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!): Real Red textured cardstock (base), Summer Sun (retired), Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green;
Stamps (Stampin Up!): Afterthoughts (2010-2011 Level 1 hostess set), Darling Dots (retired);
Ink (Stampin Up!): Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Old Olive, Crushed Curry (retired);
Ribbon: ¼” Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon (Stampin Up!), red crochet thread;
Embellishments (Stampin Up!): Yellow Brads (Subtles, retired);
Tools: scissors, paper cutter, double sided tape, glue, glue dots (Stampin' Up!), dimensionals (Stampin' Up!), matches (to stop ribbon from fraying).
Happy Birthday, Ulises!
